Pulled this one out at the last minute for a fast Friday finish. I wasn't planning on binding this today but then something exciting happened.
My first set of official professional looking labels arrived. So, of course, I had to use at least one.
My husband was impressed with the front of the label but thinks the back is too mushy. Next time I might change the back to say "handcrafted in 2014" because it would be nice to document the year I made the quilt too.
The labels are from tagtopia another seller on etsy. She was wonderful to work with and super fast. Plus her prices were reasonable even for small quantities.
So with label in hand, I whipped out a binding and got my second Miss Kate quilt finished up.
For this Miss Kate version I used only the solids and the geometrics from the collection. It gives it such a different feeling from my first Miss Kate baby quilt. Removing the florals makes this perfect for either a boy or a girl and gives it a much more modern feeling even with the pinwheels.
I thought you might want to see the back of this one.
I quilted it much more sparingly than any other pinwheel I've done before. I like the simplicity of it - especially if it is being used for a boy.
The pillow cover I made earlier in the week goes perfectly with it.
All 3 of these Miss Kate items are available in my etsy shop if you're interested.
