Cowboy Patchwork Quilt
Howdy Partner!!!
I just finished this cute cowboy quilt this week. It was started before we moved back in February but got pushed to the back of the line for a while.
My sister needed a gift for a friend in Texas and I had previously purchased some of this Riley Blake October Afternoon Sasparilla fabric so we thought it would be perfect.
I fussy cut the main cowboy fabric and then did 2.5 inch squares for the rest of the patchwork. I am finding that I really like the look of a 2.5 inch patchwork square the best although it does take a lot more time to cut and sew all those small squares even with chain piecing and strip sewing.
A few of the scenes featured cowgirls too so I think you could get away with using this for a boy or a girl.
For the back and the binding we picked the gray bandana print.
And then of course I quilted it up in diagonal lines crisscrossing each patchwork square.
Now all it needs is a ribbon and a tag and off it will go to it's new owner.
